It's About Damned Time
It's About Damned Time
Texas A&M University has abolished legacy admissions.
One Democrats inadvertently touches upon the central issues of civil rights these days: "This discussion is far from over," said State Representative Garnet Coleman, Democrat of Houston. "They act like they've done something for students of color by eliminating the legacy program. They have not. The new policy takes away the advantage of some students, but it does not remedy the obstacles faced by students of color and women."
But, screwing white people is all the civil rights movement accomplishes anymore. The civil rights crowd has given up trying to make black people's lives better and concentrates and making white people's lives worse.
So, the new Texas A&M policy should satisfy everyone. Those of us who believe college admissions should be merit based are pleased because a preferential policy has ended and the civil rights crowd should be happy because something has been taken away from people of pallor.
