Not Such Rubes After All
Once again, the elite has underestimated Americans. The screen debut of "The Passion of the Christ" was supposed to be attended by a wave of anti-Semitism. Well, $117 million tickets later, it hasn't happened.
Suzanne Fields give us her take, which happens to be the same as mine. "Anti-Semitism today is a disease of the secular leftist intellectual elites, particularly in Europe. The latest wave of anti-Semitism is rooted in politics, not theology."
Bingo! And, those who are flooding into the theatres are not leftist elites.
