Claire McCaskill - A Glittering Example Of A Dishonest Partisan Hack
"I think it is unfair and, frankly, political to take pot shots at the president as we respond to this failure in our systems," McCaskill sniffed to guest host Gloria Borger on CNN's "State of the Union."
Borger had asked McCaskill about the assessment from 9/11 Commission Chairman Tom Kean, a mildly Republican former governor of New Jersey, that the Obama administration was "distracted" by other issues before the Northwest Airlines attack.
McCaskill saw no contradiction in chastising the ever-temperate Kean for saying it was "understandable" but "not acceptable" that Obama was so focused on the economy, global warming, and health care that he was "distracted" from fighting terrorism.
Maybe it was just my own regional prejudices, but I have always maintained that my own senator, Patty Murray was by far the dimmest bulb in the United State Senate. But I may have too transfer that honor to Claire McCaskill.
