Deduct One From The New York City Sanitation Department's Death Toll

The crappy job they do saved a life, because an attempted suicide was thwarted by piles of uncollected garbage.
A despondent West Side man took a leap out of his ninth-floor window this afternoon — but was saved when he landed onto a huge pile of garbage that’s been collecting since New York’s devastating post-Christmas blizzard, officials said.
From my view, this doesn't forgive in the slightest the lives lost due to an intentional work slowdown committed by that same department.
