Media Hypocrisy: Yawn

Did you know that the Democrats had their own stable of deep-pocketed bazillionaire donors? Nope. But you know everything about the Koch brothers.
If a campaign finance story is not about David Koch or Sheldon Adelson, do liberals care?

Consider the reaction to Kenneth Vogel’s important report on the winter meeting of the Democracy Alliance, the secretive organization of progressive millionaires and billionaires who finance an extraordinarily byzantine network of liberal foundations and Super PACs that operate with undisclosed “dark money.”

What reaction? Exactly. There wasn’t any.

The left-wing VIPs assembled at the luxury W Hotel across the street from the White House, but only Vogel reported on the story. The gathering did not merit inclusion in either the Washington Post or the New York Times, both of which have offices within blocks of the W, and both of which have devoted reams of newsprint to Mitt Romney’s donor retreats and various Koch-affiliated fundraising summits. Was New York Times campaign finance reporter Nicholas Confessore too busy appearing on NOW with Alex Wagner to cover the event?

Detroit Mayor Laments The Culture Of Entitlement

Kinda sounds like Mitt Romney.
“We are in an environment, I think, of entitlement, we’ve got a lot of people who are city workers, who for years and years, 20, 30 years, think they are entitled to a job and all that comes with it,” Bing said.

He added: “Nobody wants to go backwards, but in order for us to move this city forward we’re going to have to take a step or two backwards — and then, I think, all of us have to participate in the pain that’ s upon us right now.

But the real bombshell may be Bing’s sense of the hardest jobs in the country.

“(My job is) to make the hard decision so this city would have a future, but it’s probably the second most difficult job in this country behind the president,” he said.
Well, he's more honest than the president.

You're Better Off Than You Were A Generation Ago

Who are you gonna believe, CNN or your own lying eyes?
We've finally emerged from the season in which Americans were asked by the pollsters and politicians: "Are you better off today than you were four years ago?" But sometimes it's important to contemplate the question of progress from a longer view: How are we doing on the scale of a generation?

Meet The New Dictator, Same As The Old Dictator

Democracy working out just about as well as expected in Egypt.
Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi triggered controversy on Thursday by issuing a decree likely to lead to retrials of Hosni Mubarak and his aides but which was compared to the ousted leader's autocratic ways.

As well as ordering retrials for Mubarak-era officials responsible for violence during the uprising against his rule, the decree shielded from legal challenge an Islamist-dominated assembly writing Egypt's new constitution.

It gave the same protection to the upper house of parliament, dominated by Islamists allied to Morsi, and assigned the president new powers that allowed him to sack the Mubarak-era prosecutor general and appoint a new one.

Susan Rice - Designated Liar

When Barack Obama needed an especially brazen liar, he knew he could count on Susan Rice.
Ambassador Susan Rice has finally explained, in her opinion, why she misled the country about what happened during the September 11 terror attack against Americans in Benghazi, Libya. According to Rice, all the blame should be given to the intelligence community for her misleading comments made five days after the attack, since she was just repeating what they had told her.

A reporter asked, the American ambassador to the United Nations, "Ambassador Rice, would you explain your view of the controversy concerning your comments about Benghazi? And have—is Senator McCain fair in what he has said?"

"As a senior US diplomat, I agreed to a White House request to appear on the Sunday shows to talk about the full range of national security issues of the day, which at that time were primarily and particularly the protests that were enveloping and threatening many diplomatic facilities—American diplomatic facilities—around the world and Iran’s nuclear program. The attack on Benghazi—on our facilities in Benghazi—was obviously a significant piece of this," Rice explains.

"When discussing the attacks against our facilities in Benghazi, I relied solely and squarely on the information provided to me by the intelligence community. I made clear that the information was preliminary and that our investigations would give us the definitive answers. Everyone, particularly the intelligence community, has worked in good faith to provide the best assessment based on the information available. You know the FBI and the State Department’s Accountability Review Board are conducting investigations as we speak, and they will look into all aspects of this heinous terrorist attack to provide what will become the definitive accounting of what occurred."
Bullshit!
Former CIA Director David Petraeus told Congress on Friday that he and the spy agency had sought to make clear from the outset that September's deadly attack on the U.S. diplomatic mission in Benghazi, Libya, involved an al Qaeda affiliate, lawmakers said.

Petraeus told lawmakers that "there were extremists in the group" that launched the attack on the diplomatic mission, describing them as affiliates of al Qaeda and other groups, said Representative C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger, the top Democrat on the House of Representatives Intelligence Committee.

"The fact is that he clarified it," Ruppersberger said.

Antonio Villaraigosa In Line For Cabinet Post

America's most inept big city mayor is moving on up to the East Side!
Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa is closely following the most important rule for a potential Cabinet member: Don’t pine after the job.

Food Pantry Traffic Up 400%

Happy Thanksgiving! Four more years!
It’s one of the most highly anticipated deliveries of the year, the turkeys at Pearl Street Cupboard and Café in Framingham. But three days before Thanksgiving, the food pantry is coming up short of turkeys for everyone who walks through the door.

It’s the first time Criseida Hernandez has asked for one. “It’s a little hard because I’ve been able to get one myself without going any place to ask for it. But I’ve been unemployed for the last year,” she said.

It’s the busiest time of year for food distribution and at Pearl Street, requests for help are up 400 percent over last year. “These are folks you wouldn’t normally expect to be needing help, on top of those always in need, it’s a big group and a big deal,” said Paul Mina president of United Way Tri-County, which runs the food pantry.

California: Highest Taxes, Highest Poverty Rate

Heckuva job Democrats.
The real cause for California's fiscal crisis is simple: They spend too much money. Between 1996 and 2012, the state's population grew by just 15 percent, but spending more than doubled, from $45.4 billion to $92.5 billion (in 2005 constant dollars).

What are Californians getting for all this government spending? According to a new census report released Friday, almost one-quarter, 23.5 percent, of all Californians are in poverty. One-third of all the nation's welfare recipients live in the state, despite the fact that California has only one-eighth of the country's population. That's four times as many as the next-highest welfare population, which is New York. Meanwhile, California eighth-graders finished ahead of only Mississippi and District of Columbia students on reading and math test scores in 2011.

New York Times Plumbs New Depths Of Childishness

The newspaper of record is no longer a newspaper for grownups.
Those generals, in my humble opinion, were nearly psychotic in their drive to kill enemy soldiers and subjugate enemy nations. Thankfully, we will probably never have cause to go back to those blood-soaked days. But we still shouldn’t allow our military establishment to give us one generation after another of imitation generals who pretend to greatness on talk shows and photo spreads, jetting around the world in military-spec business jets.

The generals who won World War II were the kind of men who, as it was said at the time, chewed nails for breakfast, spit tacks at lunch and picked their teeth with their pistol barrels. General Petraeus probably flosses. He didn’t chew nails and spit tacks, but rather challenged privates to push-up contests and went out on five-mile reveille runs with biographers.

His greatest accomplishment was merely personal: he transformed himself from an intellectual nerd into a rock star military man. The problem was that he got so lost among his hangers-on and handlers and roadies and groupies that he finally had his head turned by a West Point babe in a sleeveless top.

If only our political leadership, not to mention the Iraqi and Afghan insurgencies, had known how quickly and hard he would fall over such a petty, ignominious affair. Think of how many tens of thousands of lives could have been saved by ending those conflicts much earlier and sending Dave and his merry band of Doonesbury generals to the showers.

Pepsi Lays Off 4000 Employees

Merry Christmas from Barack Hussein Obama and Michael Bloomberg.
PepsiCo Inc. is considering to cut approximately 4,000 employees and reduce pension contributions in order to increase their income.

Citing a source, reported the New York Post, quoted by Reuters on Friday (06.01.2012), currently the company offers retirement plans and matching contributions to 401 thousand retirement savings account.

One of these large companies believe that by offering both of these is an act that is more generous.

Pepsi-party claims when 401 thousand by eliminating the retirement savings account that will save the company up to USD75 million. The layoffs, accounting for approximately one percent more than the payroll company, will include a small number of workers at its headquarters.

Prominent Democrat Firing Working People Left And Righ

Democrat silence.
When Buffett bought the 63 papers in the Media General chain, he said: “In towns and cities where there is a strong sense of community, there is no more important institution than the local paper. The many locales served by the newspapers we are acquiring fall firmly in this mold and we are delighted they have found a permanent home with Berkshire Hathaway.”

This is actually the closing of two newspapers, since the Potomac News and the Manassas Journal Messenger merged in 2008. World Media said all 33 people working for the paper and Web site would lose their jobs, along with 72 others in the Media General corporate structure.

There are a lot of talented and hard-working journalists at the News & Messenger and InsideNoVA and they deserve our respect and thanks. They didn’t deserve to be shut down after 143 years of public service.

He Knew Nothink! Nothink!

The perfect man for the top job at the New York Times.
The NY Times stuck with embattled former BBC chief Mark Thompson based on his assurances that despite thirty-three years at the BBC including eight at the helm he had never heard a whisper about BBC star Jimmy Savile's pedophilia.

Now the Times has documentation that his ignorance was not as complete as he had claimed. The ghastly facts and Thompson's creative defense:

A legal letter sent on behalf of Mark Thompson, the former director general of the BBC, raises questions about his assertions that he learned of accusations of sexual abuse against its longtime host Jimmy Savile only after leaving the corporation’s top job.

In the letter, sent 10 days before Mr. Thompson left the BBC in September, lawyers representing him and another executive threatened to sue The Sunday Times in London over contentions in an article it was preparing that they had been involved in killing a BBC investigation of Mr. Savile.
Interviews show that the letter included a summary of the alleged abuse, including the allegation that some abuse might have occurred at the BBC.

According to people who have reviewed the private letter, it recounted that the proposed article in The Sunday Times magazine would “look at a number of allegations regarding the behavior of the late television and radio presenter, specifically that he took advantage of a series of young women. Some of the alleged assaults took place on BBC premises.”

An aide to the former BBC chief said that although Mr. Thompson had orally authorized the sending of the letter, he had not known the details of its contents. “It’s not clear if he was shown it, but he doesn’t remember reading it,” said the aide, a personal adviser who spoke on the condition of anonymity to give Mr. Thompson’s version of events. Mr. Thompson declined to comment.

So Thompson is going with the classic "I'll sue you if you say whatever it is you are saying, even though I have no idea what it is" defense.  Save it for the laugh track.

Kremlin Cheers Obama Re-Election

The world's dictatorships celebrate.
It is perhaps not surprising that the Kremlin is pleased with the outcome of the election, especially since President Obama told then-President Dmitri Medvedev earlier this year that he would have more flexibility after the election to negotiate NATO plans to place components of a missile-defense shield in Eastern Europe.

Russia has expressed concerns that the system is aimed at them, although the United States and NATO insist it is designed to counter an Iranian attack.

Obama’s remarks, caught on an open microphone at a summit in Seoul, South Korea, drew sharp criticism from Republicans who suggested that the president was too soft on Russia and not honest with the U.S. public about his intentions for missile defense.

Now the prime minister, Medvedev told reporters in Hanoi today that he is glad Republican candidate Mitt Romney lost.

Another Creepy Pro-Obama Video

We need to get rid of this guy if only to put an end to these cultish North Korean style propaganda videos.

Proof That Obama Does Have Emotions

Other than anger and vindictiveness that is.

He weeps when he considers the prospect of losing the election. I'd be more impressed if he gave a shit about servicemen and border patrol agents who died as a consequence of his careless leadership.

Romney Can't Lose?

Romney has 248 electoral votes in the bank. After that, he only needs to peel off two more swing states.
Here's the big picture for the presidency: Romney will win the entire South, including "swing" states North Carolina, Florida and Virginia, plus all the usual solid-red states of the inland West. That gets him to 248 electoral votes. From there, he will need only one state from each of the next two conglomerations of three. He will need to win either Ohio, Pennsylvania, or Michigan, plus either Colorado, Wisconsin, or Minnesota. He will indeed take two of those six in the right combinations, and he will be president. And that doesn't even include New Hampshire (an absolute tossup), Iowa (I think it will go for Romney), or Nevada (probably an Obama state), or the lone elector from the Second Congressional District in Maine, which will go for Romney, too.

Four More Years?

Benghazi Debacle Demands Impeachment

The evidence is overwhelming that Barack Hussein Obama concocted an elaborate lie to conceal what really occurred on September 11, 2012 at our embassy in Benghazi, Libya. We knew it was bad. But it’s even worse than that.

In 2008, Hillary Clinton asked how Barack Obama would respond to a 3:00 AM phone call bringing news of an international crisis. We now know the answer.

He’ll go back to sleep.

Recently revealed White House emails prove that within 25 minutes of the start of the attack the White House knew that it was a premeditated terrorist attack. They watched video of the attack in real time. Within two hours, they knew who did it.

Barack Obama confessed that it was terrorism the next day in an interview with CBS News’ Steve Kroft. CBS chose to edit that segment out of its broadcast.

After that interval of tentative truthfulness, Team Obama shifted to an absurd lie blaming the murders on Libyan film critics upset over an obscure YouTube video. Three days after the attack, Obama’s mouthpiece, Jay Carney, told reporters that, “We have no evidence to suggest that it was a preplanned attack.”

Two days later, Obama’s ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice, spread the lie on five Sunday morning talk shows.

The father of one of the two ex-Navy SEALS who were killed in the attack says that Hillary Clinton promised to, “make sure that the person who made that film is arrested and prosecuted.”

The film maker is rotting in jail, denied a bail hearing until after the election.

We now know what they knew and when they knew it. Our Libyan CIA Station Chief told them. The embassy staff told them. The CIA begged for help. The request was denied.

They even knew the name of the organization executing the attack. One of our security personnel on the ground was “painting” the bad guys with an infrared laser designator. We have two Spectre gunships in the area that could have been on site within minutes, certainly within the hour. When combined with that laser designator, Spectre gunships could have poured invincible firepower down on the terrorists with pinpoint accuracy.

But the commander-in-chief’s sleep couldn’t be disturbed. He had a trip to Vegas planned for the next day! Request denied.

Defense Secretary Leon Panetta tried to take the blame. But considering that Obama had to approve killing Somali pirates in 2009, it’s inconceivable that Panetta could have taken this decision himself.

Before the attack, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton requested increased security. Obama turned her down.

And it goes back even further than that.

The seeds of the Libyan disaster were sown during Obama’s “Arab Spring” debacle. Obama “led from behind” in the war that overthrew Libyan dictator Muammar Qadaffi. And while the world will not mourn Qadaffi’s passing, there was no plan in place for what comes next.

What came next was an ungoverned state. The Libyan “government” exerts no authority outside its offices. The weapons are in the hands of the Islamofascist militias.

Obama’s illegal war created another Somalia or Waziristan, wild lawless regions of the world where terrorists establish training bases and plan attacks with impunity.

And so there are other reasons why Obama would blame the attack on Muslims enraged by a video.

First of all, it conforms to the stereotype that most Americans have of Muslims. Secondly, it was needed to cover up strategic ineptitude in the months and years leading up to the attack.

A little remembered preamble to the Arab Spring dates back to the Bush Administration. George Bush quietly funded a number of pro-democracy organizations in the area. When Obama took office, he cut those funds. As a consequence, when the dictators fell, only the extremists had any organization on the ground.

Third, it exposes the childish wishful thinking of Obama’s foreign policy of apology and appeasement. To give you an idea of how this works, part of Obama’s plan for preparing Afghanistan for our eventual exit included refurbishing Mullah Omar’s mosque. Mullah Omar was Osama bin Laden’s puppet dictator in Afghanistan and is still at large.

The truth exposes Obama’s strategic and tactical ineptitude. No wonder the film maker is rotting in jail.

The generous explanation for Team Obama’s behavior blamed innocent stupidity. The emails vaporize that excuse. The anti-Islam video story was a cynical concoction to cover up years of ideologically driven incompetence.
