Giant 22 Foot Crocodile?
This thing seems ridiculously big. Does anybody know if this is true? It supposed measured 22 feet long and weighed 2500 pounds.
Update: Some research from Snopes.com
Probably true, but a little exaggerated.
By the way, as long as you're here, check out the rest of my blog.

He is actually a 16', 1900 lbs, 50-year old (estimated) croc too old to hunt for regular prey (surmised) and looking for human prey in Pointe Noire, Africa in july 6, 2003. See Snopes.com for great info on all email myths!!
I tried to check on snopes but their search engine really needs improving. I tried typing in "22 foot crocodile", "Niger River" "Niger River Crocodile" and nothing showed up for ANY of those. I FINALLY found it after I typed "crocodile"
im sorry, but if that picture is real, you must be crazy to think that is only 16'. the average human head is 6 inches wide. use a ruler to measure one of their heads, and then do the division. thing is at least 20 ft. and i actually came up with just a little over 22 ft, but im taking into consideration that the people are a little further back than the croc, so its prob about 22 ft, not much smaller than that though
Take a look at the grass and weeds, that thing is not 22 feet. The people in the picture are significantly behind the crocodile. Why do you think no one is holding the mouth? They put a stick in there because a person close enough to hold the mouth would reveal the real size.
if you all would watch the news you would know that yes this is true it was 22 ft long and 2500 lbs , the army had to come in to kill this crocodile, in this village in africa. It is not impossible for a crocodile to grow this big, they could get bigger...
Why would anybody watch the news? Don't we get lied to enough as it is?
Just because it is on the news does NOT make it true. Just as posting it on the internet does NOT make it true. Your naivete is adorable.
