What a Bunch of Bullsh*t!

What a Bunch of Bullsh*t!

The original headlines suggested that Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld believed that the United States was losing the war on terror.

MSNBC called it pessimistic, although they've removed that word from the headline.

The Washington Post headline reads, "Rumsfeld Questions Anti-Terrorism Efforts"

Predictably, Senate Minorty Leader Tom Daschle of South Dakota gleefully lamented: "I think Secretary Rumsfeld's comments are an illustration of the concern that they have about the failure of their policies in Iraq so far."

But, any clear-minded person who reads the memo sees that Rumsfeld is remarking the obvious, that an military designed to meet a large army face to face on a battlefield lacks the maneuverability to track down and capture or kill small scattered cells of terrorists. And he challenges the military to adapt.

Where is the pessimism? Where is the defeatism? These are the thoughts of a man who believes that the job can be done better and is laying the foundations for doing it better.

If I ever needed any evidence that the mainstream press and the Democrats want us to fail for partisan advantage, it is found in their reaction to this memo.
