My Son Wants a Handgun

My Son Wants a Handgun

The day before Thanksgiving, my 19-year old son informed me of his intention to purchase a handgun. He believed that he had not just the right, but the responsibility to defend himself. He also said that he planned to acquire a concealed carry permit.
I thought it over and said, "Good idea."
After all, I owned my first handgun when I was about 16. For many years, I slept with it within easy reach when I lived in Cahleeforrnya.
I even agreed with his tastes, although I think it's out of his price range. He wants a Desert Eagle chambered for .50 Action Express.
Glenn Reynolds explains why my son is just part of a shift in attititude.
