Harry Reid, who as Senate Minority Leader is opposing the nomination of the eminently qualified John Roberts, is asking Bush to "go slow" on replacing Sandra Day O'Connor.
Of course, what he hopes is that he can stall for a couple of years so that maybe, just maybe, a Democratic president can choose her replacement.

When one considers the reprehensible behavior of Democrats during the Roberts confirmation process, there's really no reason for Bush to cooperate with Democrats at all.
