Illegal immigration is a winning issue for Republicans.

New York Governor Elliot Spitzer is said to be endangering the whole Democratic Party in New York with his plan to issue drivers licenses to illegal aliens. State Democrats fear that this scheme will cost the party votes and possibly threaten Hillary's coronation in 2008.

And now, Massachussetts Democrats just barely squeek out a win in what was supposed to be a safe seat when the Republican candidate introduced illegal immigration into the campaign.
