Those Frisky French "Youths" Party Down Dude

It's time once again to play, "Name That Religion!"

Actually, this one isn't too bad, by the AP's depressingly low standards. You can find the word "Arab" in the fifth paragraph, which is unusually informative for an Associate Press story. If you couldn't guess which faith animates these thugs before then, you should be able to now.

There is still the usual bullshit blaming French society for the "youths'" behavior.

Youths, many of them Arab and black children of immigrants, again appeared to be lashing out at police and other targets seen to represent a French establishment they feel has left them behind.

Those on the front lines see it a little differently.

"I don't think it's an ethnic problem," Wiart said. "Most of all it is youths who reject all state authority. They attack firefighters, everything that represents the state."
