Grim Milestone

Obama's election put an end to the mainstream media's endless list of Grim Milestones. But we just suffered our deadliest year in the war and there are more than two months remaining. If George Bush were still president, that would qualify as a Grim Milestone.
NATO helicopter crashed in southern Afghanistan today, killing nine service members, The Associated Press reported. Cause of the crash is currently under investigation, but the Taliban has already claimed to have shot it down.

The incident was the worst chopper crash for coalition forces in four years, and marked 2010 as the deadliest year of the Afghan War for foreign troops, Reuters reported. So far this year, 525 U.S. and NATO troops have been killed in Afghanistan, surpassing the 504 killed last year.
