Julian Assange Cashes In

You knew that Assange was just looking to make a buck. Now he's made $1.57 million of them.

The Australian said he would receive the equivalent of 800,000 British pounds from Alfred A. Knopf, his American publisher, and a British deal with Canongate is worth about 500,000 pounds.

Money from other markets and serialisation is expected to raise the total to 1.1 million pounds, he said.
