Remember When America Last Had a President Who Didn't Throw Like A Girl?

Keith Olbermann Calls Andrew Breitbart A "Comically Dishonest Propagandist"

And follows it up with a highly intellectual fart joke. And it wasn't just Keith Olbermann who thought that up. He needed his staff to help him come up with that zinger. Just in case you don't get the joke, no one has less moral authority than Keith Olbermann to call anyone a dishonest propagandist.

New York Times Discovers That Not All Latinos Think Alike

Shocking news to that paper I'm sure. And a lesson I'm sure they'll quickly forget.
My own Arizona family is of Mexican descent, with the exception of my mother and they are unanimously in favor of the law.
“All Latinos are not opposed to this law — that’s too simplistic,” said Cecilia Menjivar, an Arizona State University sociologist. There are other Mr. Sotelos out there, including an Arizona state legislator, Representative Steve B. Montenegro, a Republican who immigrated from El Salvador and became the only Latino lawmaker to vote in favor of the bill.

Since Gov. Jan Brewer signed the legislation in April, polls have found that about 70 percent of Latinos nationwide oppose the law, which allows the police to arrest people they suspected of being illegal immigrants, a provision blocked by a federal judge at the request of the Justice Department.
Of course, the New York Times has still not learned that the law does not allow  "the police to arrest people they suspected of being illegal immigrants." It allows them to ask for documentation verifying their immigration status.

Mini JournoList

Anchorage news team caught plotting an October Surprise against senate candidate Joe Miller.
Clearly the reporters were conspiring to set up some type of smear of Joe Miller. With glee, they even cite a recent controversy over an incident involving the Rand Paul campaign, while discussing how they would spread the story via social media after whatever incident they had in mind came off. It also brings to mind another recent episode that ended with Jerry Brown’s California gubernatorial campaign being caught up in controversy when someone from Brown’s camp called Brown’s opponent, Republican Meg Whitman, a “whore.”

Would You Invite An Islamofascist To a "Restore Sanity" Rally

Much of the blogosphere is appalled, as well it should be, at the selection of Yusuf Islam — Cat Stevens — to perform at Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert’s now absurdly named “Rally to Restore Sanity.” As the world well knows, Islam/Stevens is the man who endorsed the fatwa on Salman Rushdie and on more than one occasion said he wished he could carry it out and murder Rushdie himself.

And if that isn’t enough — and it should be — Islam is a misogynist who won’t talk to women. (Take another listen to the paternalistic “Wild World” if you want to hear the psychological roots of his profound “religious” belief.)

So what’s up with Stewart and Colbert? Why would they have a man like that singing at their event? Is this PC cultural relativism gone berserk? (“Hey, dude, it’s cool. Yusuf’s into the fatwa thing, you dig?  He loves Khomeini just like Foucault did. All cultures are equal, you know. Who are we to judge?”)  If that’s so, why not invite Khalid Sheik Mohammed to perform? He actually took the head off Daniel Pearl.  He didn’t just talk the talk. He walked the walk.

What Obama's Best And Brightest Missed

The biggest error that the Obamatons made was founded in their belief that theoreticians can make better decisions than free people. However, free people have a deeper appreciation of how the economy works than Obama's deep thinkers.

Illegal Aliens Doing The Work That Americans Won't - Supporting Democrats

We are often told by our betters that illegal aliens are essential to our economy because they do the work that Americans just won’t do anymore. Until recently, I didn’t believe that. But now I do see that there are illegal aliens doing work that Americans won’t do anymore right here in Washington. Illegal aliens are ringing doorbells, getting out the vote for Patty Murray.

Facing a rout of historic proportions, Democrats are falling back on their most reliable constituencies, illegal aliens and the dead.

There is not a great deal of enthusiasm within the Democratic ranks this year. The Democratic rank and file have seen their heroes fail to achieve promised goals or they have watched the legislation that was passed fail spectacularly. Democrats are not much interested in going to the polls, much less canvassing neighborhoods getting out the vote. As such, Democrats are resorting to less conventional foot soldiers.

One America Votes is a left wing, immigrant organization that has been able to recruit volunteers who are still willing to go door to door encouraging people to vote Democratic. And many of their canvassers are in the country illegally. That’s understandable. If only legal voters cast ballots in Washington, Dino Rossi would be governor.

And Democrats are not confining their efforts to Washington. In Arizona another leftist group, Mi Familia Vota is taking up the slack left by the demise of ACORN. Previously voter registration fraud was the duty of ACORN. But now much of that responsibility has been assigned to a new group - Mi Familia Vota. Mi Familia Vota has been trolling for votes among illegal immigrants and has submitted thousands of fraudulent voter registrations.

In Yuma County, Arizona Mi Familia Vota dropped 3000 voter registration forms on the Yuma Recorder’s office on the last day that voter registration forms could be legally accepted before the November 2 election. So far, 65% of registration forms have been rejected because the registrant was not a citizen, didn’t actually exist, or listed a nonexistent address as his place of residence. In addition, the registration forms that were presented were almost exclusively Democrat, a statistical unlikelihood not seen since 1960 when whole precincts in Chicago experienced 100% turnout and voted unanimously and in alphabetical order for Democratic presidential nominee John Kennedy.

Just for the record, it is illegal for any group to selectively register only one party. Any organization that conducts voter registration drives is required to accept anyone’s registration, regardless of party affiliation. It would appear that Mi Familia Vota elected not to observe that law, which is hardly surprising considering the organization’s parentage and alliances.

Colorado authorities had to reject more than 6000 voter registrations submitted by Mi Familia Vota suspected of being fraudulent.

Elsewhere in Arizona Mi Familia Vota has registered over 20,000 “voters” and has signed up another 43,000 for early voting.

For the record, Mi Familia Vota is a subsidiary of the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), otherwise known as the “Purple People Beaters” for their favored uniform shirt (a purple tee-shirt) and their predilection to violence and intimidation.

In the meantime, Obama’s Attorney General, Eric Holder, is refusing to enforce Section 8 of the 1993 Motor Voter act. Motor Voter represented a dramatic easing of voter registration laws that almost guaranteed that there would be more vote fraud. The one concession that Republicans managed to ring out of the Democrats was a clause that required states to regularly purge their voter rolls of registered voters who had moved out of the state or had died or who for some other reason were no longer eligible to vote in that state.

One year ago Deputy Assistant Attorney General Julie Fernandes stated flatly that Eric Holder’s Justice Department had “no interest in enforcing Section 8,” arguing that, “Section 8 denied ballot access rather than increase turnout.”

Section 8 denies the voting rights of dead people. It denies people the opportunity to cast votes in two or more states. And it denied the voting rights of fraudsters who would cast vote in the names of other people. But Section 8 denies no one the right to cast a legal vote. Clearly it is the intent of Obama’s Department of Justice to enable voter fraud.

And so we have a concerted effort to get the dead and illegal aliens to do the job that Americans just won’t do this Tuesday – vote Democratic.

ABC: Democrat Attack Ad Are Personal, While Republicans Focus On Policy

And Democrats will be the ones whining loudest about the politics of personal destruction.
As you watch this year's ads -- and I've been watching all too many lately -- you'll notice a striking difference between Democratic and Republican attack ads: Democrats are attacking over personal issues, Republicans are attacking over policy.

There are, of course, many exceptions, but the overall trend is clear. Democrats are hitting their Republican opponents over past legal transgressions, shady business deals and even speeding tickets. Republicans are hammering Democrats over "Obamacare," Nancy Pelosi and the economy.

Know Nothing Senator Criticizes "Ignorance"

John Kerry qualifies as an intellectual simpleton. But because you don't agree with him, you're ignorant. I guess this is another example of the senator's "nuance."
"It's absurd. We've lost our minds," said a clearly exasperated Kerry. "We're in a period of know-nothingism in the country, where truth and science and facts don't weigh in. It's all short-order, lowest common denominator, cheap-seat politics."
To underscore his claim, he said statistics show Republicans had blocked Senate business with filibuster tactics more during the past 18 months than the period between the end of World War I and the Apollo moon landing in 1969.
"The obstructionism is stunning," Kerry said, noting the country still lacks an assistant treasury secretary. "I think America really needs to know more of this kind of tactic and how it's shortchanging us."

Pick A Liar To Believe

Bill Clinton contradicts Kendrick Meeks. Who's telling the truth?
Former President Bill Clinton says he talked to Rep. Kendrick Meek about ending his bid for Senate twice, but that he never discussed the issue with the White House.

“He was trying to determine what was the best thing for him to do,” Clinton said in an interview with CNN’s Susan Candiotti Thursday. “I knew it was being discussed, people had discussed it on and off… it was no secret.”

Clinton said Meek did not have enough money to break through in the polls.

“He was trying to think about what was the best thing for Florida,” Clinton said.

When You've Lost Dana Milbank

You've lost Dana Milbank, and probably nothing else.
On Comedy Central, the joke was on President Obama Wednesday night.

The president had come, on the eve of what will almost certainly be the loss of his governing majority, to plead his case before Jon Stewart, gatekeeper of the disillusioned left. But instead of displaying the sizzle that won him an army of youthful supporters two years ago, Obama had a Brownie moment.

The Daily Show host was giving Obama a tough time about hiring the conventional and Clintonian Larry Summers as his top economic advisor.

"In fairness," the president replied defensively, "Larry Summers did a heckuva job."
"You don't want to use that phrase, dude," Stewart recommended with a laugh.

Global Warming Skeptics Equal Slave Owners?

That's what qualifies as cleverness in both the New York Times and academia.
“Just as few people saw a moral problem with slavery in the 18th century, few people in the 21st century see a moral problem with the burning of fossil fuels,” Professor [Andrew] Hoffman [of the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and School of Natural Resources] said. “Will people in 100 years look at us with the same incomprehension we feel toward 18th-century defenders of slavery?”

Can We At Least Agree Not To Give Money To Dead People?

Could Barack Hussein Obama at least agree with Republicans on this?
Republican Sen. Tom Coburn wants to knife federal spending for dead people. It’s not like they’ll be hurt by it, right?

Just in time for Halloween, Coburn on Friday is releasing a report entitled, “Federal Programs to Die For: American Tax Dollars Sent Six Feet Under.”

Coburn’s office says that since 2000, at least $1 billion in taxpayer money has gone to 250,000 dead people.

Here are highlights of the report, in its own words:
•    The Social Security Administration sent $18 million in stimulus funds to 71,688 dead people and $40.3 million in questionable benefit payments to 1,760 dead people.

Videos Of Democrats Being Democrats Is Hate

Congresswoman Betsy McCollum decided to edit out the words "under God," from the pledge of allegiance. She's not adjusting well to life in the age of Youtube.

Economy Remains Anemic

As bad as expected. Well, at least expectations have changed.
U.S. economic growth edged up as expected in the third quarter but not enough to chip away at high unemployment or change perceptions of more monetary easing from the Federal Reserve next week.

Gross domestic product expanded at a 2.0 percent annual rate as consumer spending rose at its quickest pace since 2006 and businesses continued to rebuild inventories, the Commerce Department said on Friday. The economy expanded at a 1.7 percent rate in the second quarter and third-quarter growth matched economists' expectations.

Democrats Funding Third Party Campaign

Well, since it's not terribly productive to ask people to vote Democrat...
A new ad was circulated via mail earlier this week to voters in Maryland’s 1st Congressional district. The mailer, which discloses in the bottom right-hand corner that it was paid for by the Democratic Congressional Committee (DCCC), features a candidate named Richard Davis.

There’s just one problem. Richard Davis is not a Democrat. He’s not even the Republican in the race. Davis is the Libertarian nominee for Congress.

As Democrats face the possibility of significant losses on Election Day, desperation seems to have set in. And as an attempt to retain Democratic numbers in Congress, a new trend has taken hold on the campaign trail: sending out ads that promote third-party candidates in the hope of siphoning votes away from the Republican.

Justice For Sale In The Obama Regime

Google investigation dropped after VP raises money for Obama. Sounds like Bill Clinton all over again.
Yesterday, the White House blog asked “as special interest billionaires continued to pour secret donations of millions of dollars each into front groups supporting Republicans, we asked the obvious question: “What do they expect in return?“”   They added, “Congressional Republicans have made clear that lobbyists have a seat at the table even when they are formulating their party’s broader strategy and governing vision.”

Mighty Obama Has Struck Out

There is no joy in Obamaville.

Heath Schuler For Speaker!

He says that he's got his own vote lined up. But he's likely to have the same obstacle to his candidacy in 2011 that Nancy Pelosi faces.
While other Democrats have said they won’t vote for Pelosi as speaker if they retain the House, nobody has openly declared they would run for the spot.

“I can do as good a job as anybody in the U.S. Congress because I can actually bring people together,” Shuler said. “I can bring people together to the table to talk about the issues and not about the political structure, and that’s what destroying the whole process in Washington — the politics.”

A Plurality Prefers Bush To Obama

Says Schoen: "Despite voters feelings toward Obama personally, 56 percent say he does not deserve to be re-elected, while 38 percent say he does deserve to be re-elected president." Worse, Schoen adds, "43 percent say that Barack Obama has been a better president than George W. Bush, while 48 percent say Bush was a better president than Obama has been."

China Overtakes US For The World's Fastest Computer

More of Obama's change.
China is set to trump the US to take the number one spot for the fastest supercomputer ever made in a survey of the world's zippiest machines, it was reported Thursday.

Tianhe-1, meaning Milky Way, has a sustained computing speed of 2,507 trillion calculations per second, making it the fastest computer in China on a list published Thursday.

But it is also 1.4 times faster that the world's current fastest ranked supercomputer in the US, housed at a national laboratory in Tennessee, according to the New York Times.

Another Good Reason To Vote Republican

Nancy Pelosi will resign as her party's leader if Democrats lose their majority. Two for the price of one!
Democrats on Capitol Hill and K Street are increasingly convinced that Speaker Nancy Pelosi would have little interest in being Minority Leader — and may start preparing to leave Congress altogether — if Republicans win the House next week.

The SEIU Controls Nevada's Voting Machines?

Did you know that the SEIU represents the voting machine technicians in Clark County (Las Vegas), Nevada? Is it any surprise, as we noted earlier today, that there was a voting glitch in Clark County, Nevada? The glitch caused Harry Reid’s name to be automatically checked on the ballot before voters had indicated who were they were supporting.
According to Joyce Ferrara who was an eyewitness to this strange ballot ordeal, the problem was widespread, “One person that’s a fluke. Two, that’s strange. But several within a five minute period of time — that’s wrong.”
It is particularly troubling that Clark County has put the uber left-wing SEIU Local 1107 in charge of their voting machines.
The agreement between the SEIU and Clark County specifically puts all voting machines under the control of the SEIU.

Obama To Exploit His Mexican Friends

If Barack Hussein Obama really wanted amnesty for illegal aliens, he could have shoved it down America's throat, just as he did with Porkulus and ObamaCare. But he didn't. And now he plans to use amnesty as a racial wedge issue against the Republicans.
The White House believes immigration reform may be the toughest test for the GOP—even tougher than tackling the deficit. "This will separate the reasonable Republicans from the pack running for president," said one senior Obama aide.
These people must be taking wishful thinking lessons from Nancy Pelosi and Baghdad Bob.

If You Can't Win It, Steal It

This election if falling into a predictable cycle. First Democrat run states deny ballots to servicemen serving overseas. More here as well. Then comes fraudulent voter registration. More here. And now we have genuine vote fraud - here, here and here.
A Craven County voter says he had a near miss at the polls on Thursday when an electronic voting machine completed his straight-party ticket for the opposite of what he intended.

Sam Laughinghouse of New Bern said he pushed the button to vote Republican in all races, but the voting machine screen displayed a ballot with all Democrats checked. He cleared the screen and tried again with the same result, he said. Then he asked for and received help from election staff.

“They pushed it twice and the same thing happened,” Laughinghouse said. “That was four times in a row. The fifth time they pushed it and the Republicans came up and I voted.”

Democrats Get Creative

And start calling Republicans "racist." How original. The Democrats must have the world's thinnest playbook. And they haven't changed a word of it in 50 years.
Politics has a tendency to devolve into juvenile playground taunts and smears. This election cycle has been no different — with one of the Democrats’ most coveted insults this year being calling the opposing candidate a racist.

As comedian Dennis Miller has said, “Racism is the new ‘doody-head.’”

Joe Manchin Was For It Before He Was Against It

The Democratic Senate candidate from West Virginia, Gov. Joe Manchin, says he didn't understand key details of the health care reform legislation when he publicly endorsed it in March — an endorsement he has since withdrawn.

"Reaching as far as they did in the — in the weeds of the bill that we didn't know about, no one else knew about until it came out — knowing that, I would not have supported that or voted for that at that time," Manchin said on "Fox News Sunday."

Asked about areas where he disagrees with President Barack Obama, Manchin cited the health care reform legislation Obama signed in March.

"The health care reform is far overreaching in areas that I don't agree with — the 1099 part of that, the mandates. Also, the firewall's not strong enough for abortions. I'm pro-life. And we're just a different type of Democrat here in West Virginia," Manchin said. (The "1099" reference is to a revenue-raising provision that requires businesses to report more transactions to the IRS.)
This is such spectacular crap! Suddenly these Democrats are all coming out and saying that they're suddenly against ObamaCare because they didn't realize notice section 1099. It would have been okay to make a mess of the world's best health care system, if not for that burdensome paperwork!

Katie Couric Descends From Her Throne

To mingle with "the great unwashed." I think she's talking about you and me folks.
People like her and she likes them. There are anchors who consider being on the road a pain in the butt. She really looks for opportunities to feel the earth and touch people.”

That’s why Couric has spent recent weeks in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston and New Brunswick, New Jersey. She is touring what she calls “this great unwashed middle of the country” in an effort to divine the mood of the midterms.

Obama's Approval Sinks To Bushian Levels

37%. This would be the first item on the evening news if it were, well George Bush.
President Obama is spending the next week crisscrossing the country in support of Democratic candidates before this year's midterm elections. While the president may do a great job of energizing the base, he may not be able to convert any Independents who have yet to decide for whom they will vote. Currently, two-thirds of Americans (67%) have a negative opinion of the job President Obama is doing while just over one-third (37%) have a positive opinion. This continues the president's downward trend and he is now at the lowest job approval rating of his presidency.

Rain - Republicans' October Surprise

The vast right wing conspiracy bring bad weather to election day, sabotaging the Democrats. I blame Karl Rove.
“Republicans are helped by bad weather ... it does harm Democratic prospects.”

Wendy Schiller, a political science professor at Brown University, echoed Harbridge. “Bad weather almost always hurts Democrats,” she said. “The traditional Democratic base tends to include lower-income people and the elderly. Both of those demographic groups have a hard time getting to the polls.”

Political experts say the rain will especially help Republicans this year because the conservative base is motivated to win back control of Congress.

Barbara Boxer To Employ The Steve Martin Defense?

I forgot! "I forgot that I owned that million dollar home in Oakland."
In a breaking development that may affect the close California Senate race, Pajamas Media has learned The Foundation for Ethics in Public Service sent a letter to Eric Holder last Thursday requesting the attorney general “begin an investigation to determine whether United States Senator Barbara Boxer violated any criminal laws or should be liable for any civil penalty for failure to disclose real property on her Personal Financial Disclosure Reports between 2002 and 2010.”

Gasoline Prices Soar Under Obama

By more than a dollar a gallon. Well, he did tell us that he intended for energy prices to "skyrocket."
Gasoline prices haven't gotten much attention amid all the other bad economic news for Democrats heading into a final week of campaigning, but the price per gallon has climbed nearly 15 cents since Labor Day - a surprising jump, given that prices usually plummet before an election.

The cost of a gallon of gas has eclipsed the $3 mark in several parts of the country and clocks in nationally at $2.82, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA). That's up from $2.68 on Sept. 6, and overall about $1 higher than the week of Jan. 26, 2009, when President Obama took office and the per-gallon price was $1.81.

Obama's Consigns Republicans To The Back Of The Bus

Obama Regime Contracts To Deny FOIA Requests

That's right! Barack Hussein Obama, who promised transparency, has signed a contract with one of its big donors to find ways to specifically deny Freedom of Information Act requests from troublesome citizens and the news media - not that they have anything to worry about from the MSM.
Officials at the Treasury Department’s Office of Financial Stability contracted with a small consulting firm that has given nearly $25,000 to Democratic candidates since 2005 (and no money to Republicans) to hire “Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) Analysts to support the Disclosure Services, Privacy and Treasury Records.” The firm is currently advertising a job opening for a FOIA analyst with experience in the “Use of FOIA/PA exemptions to withhold information from release to the public.”

When People Don't Have To Work...

They don't. Who knew?
Congressional Budget Office director Doug Elmendorf said Friday that ObamaCare includes work disincentives likely to shrink the amount of labor used in the economy.

In a speech on ObamaCare’s economic impact outside the health care sector, Elmendorf said that those effects will primarily be related to the labor market and “will probably be small.”

Factoring in additional demand for workers in health care and insurance, CBO estimates that “the legislation, on net, will reduce the amount of labor used in the economy by roughly half a percent,” he said.

The reason: The expansion of Medicaid and new health insurance subsidies will reduce “the amount of labor that workers choose to supply.”

"I Voted For McCain"

An endangered Democrat's last desperate ploy. Hasta la vista, baby!
How scared is Mississippi Rep. Gene Taylor about his reelection prospects? Over the weekend the 10-term Democratic congressman made a startling admission: He voted for Republican John McCain for president in 2008.

Taylor made the revelation that he didn't vote for President Barack Obama to the Biloxi Sun Herald just as he’s locked in the most competitive reelection battle of his career against Republican state Rep. Steven Palazzo. Despite the district’s strong GOP tilt – its residents voted 67 percent for McCain in 2008 – Taylor has never won reelection with less than 58 percent of the vote.
Palazzo's challenge to Taylor flew under the radar for most of the election cycle. But as of late, the state representative has capitalized on the extreme dislike for the Democratic leadership in the conservative coastal district, particularly for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi. In ads, he's hammered Taylor for voting for Pelosi as speaker and reminds constituents Taylor has voted with Pelosi 82 percent of the time. In pre-general election campaign spending reports filed last week with the Federal Election Commission, Palazzo narrowly outraised Taylor in the first two weeks of October.

Nancy Pelosi Promises No New Defict Spending

How's that working out?

Obama's Illegal Stalling On Nuclear Waste

We have a nuclear waste repository. Or we did until Barack Hussein Obama shut it down to assist Harry Reid's reelection bid. And he had no authority to do so
The shenanigans at the Nuclear Regulatory Commission over shutting down the nation's high-level nuclear waste repository have gone beyond suspicious to downright brazen.

Despite the NRC's own licensing board ruling that says the Obama administration does not have the authority to shut down Yucca Mountain unilaterally, NRC Chairman Gregory B. Jaczko directed scientists to stop work on a nearly finished evaluation of the project. Two of the five commissioners unsuccessfully challenged Jaczko's tactic late last week.

In 1987, Congress designated Yucca Mountain as the geological repository for the nation's commercial nuclear waste, not to mention tons of Cold War-era nuclear defense waste that otherwise would be marooned at sites like Hanford in Southeast Washington.
Jaczko is shutting Yucca down despite:

• The NRC's Atomic Licensing and Safety Board ruling that the Obama administration does not have the authority to flout the will of Congress and withdraw the two-year-old license application for the project;

• A letter signed by more than 90 members of Congress from both parties, including Sen. Patty Murray, D-Wash., and other key appropriators, saying the same thing;

• Pending litigation by Washington, South Carolina and others before the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. In good faith, the court said it would wait until the NRC ruled, but Jaczko sits on the serious quasi-judicial question before the commission while he shuts down Yucca.

Oh, but then there is that Nevada election where Jaczko's former boss, Sen. Harry Reid, is in the fight of his life with a Republican who has drawn dead even in the polls. No, wouldn't look good for Reid to lose his fight to stop Yucca now.

Obama Is So Yesterday

The young are bored with Obama. When I saw Megan McCain claim that the young were turning from the GOP, I figured that she must be auditioning for Rick Sanchez's job, where you just make up "facts." The truth is precisely the opposite of Ms McCain "feels."
They’ve quit bugging their friends about change, they’re no longer trying to sign up new voters and the knock-on-door day trips now draw only the most hard-core.
One statistic from Rock the Vote, the most aggressive organization behind youthful political participation, illustrates the difference between now and 2008 — just 280,000 young voters signed up in its midterm elections voter drive, a fraction of the 2.5 million who eagerly put their name on voter forms two years ago.

The bottom line: From coast to coast, universities that brim with liberal ideas and idealistic students won’t be sending nearly as many voters to the polls on Nov. 2. And that’s bad news for Democrats.

Wikileaks Supports Bush

Do you remember when the Democrats claimed that Bush was playing domestic politics when he accused Iran of supplying the Iraqi insurgency? Well, it turns out that Bush was right - again.
The largest unauthorized disclosure of classified government documents in U.S. history confirms a long-standing assertion of President George W. Bush at the start of the 2007 troop surge: Iran was orchestrating one side of the Iraqi insurgency.

Field reports made public by the website WikiLeaks on Friday show that U.S. military intelligence agencies had many strands of evidence revealing that Iran provided paramilitary training to Shiite Muslim insurgents at the height of the civil war in Iraq.

In one case, the military circulated a Dec. 22, 2006, warning that a group known as Jaish al-Mahdi planned to kidnap U.S. soldiers. The man planning the operation, Sheik Azhar al-Dulaimi, was trained by Hezbollah terrorists near the Iranian city of Qom, the document stated. Hezbollah is a Lebanon-based militia that was founded, trained and funded by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

"This confirms the degree of operational involvement the Iranian Revolutionary Guard used in anti-U.S. operations in Iraq," said Kenneth Katzman, a Gulf affairs specialist at the Congressional Research Service. "It confirms the degree to which Iran was involved in operations that directly targeted U.S. forces."

Independents Flocking To Republicans

Giving the lie to the notion that independents were yearning for a more moderate GOP.
Expressing deep dissatisfaction with President Obama’s policies and performance, independents have increasingly sided with conservatives in the belief that government grew too large, too fast under Obama—and that it can no longer be trusted. In the final pre-election Battleground Poll, Republicans hold a 14-point edge among independents and lead overall, 47 percent to 42 percent, in the generic ballot match up.
The swing among independents rivals the emergence of the spirited Tea Party movement as one of the most important changes in American politics over the past 20 months. Many other polls have confirmed this trend over that period, even though it has been vastly overshadowed by coverage of more provocative characters and themes on the right.

Obama Explains Why 2010 Will Be Worse For Dems Than 1994

“I’ve been doing that with this White House, and they just don’t seem to give it any credibility at all,” Representative Marion Berry (D-Arkansas) said. “They just kept telling us how good it was going to be. The president himself, when that was brought up in one group, said, ‘Well, the big difference here and in ’94 was you’ve got me.’ We’re going to see how much difference that makes now.”
Well gosh! It worked so well Martha Coakley, Jon Corzine and Creigh Deeds.

How Much Does Obama Understate Unemployment?

By a ton. According to CBS?

Obama Lied, Health Care Died

Barack Hussein Obama told us that under ObamaCare, if we liked our current health insurance coverage, we could keep it. He lied.
The new health care law wasn't supposed to undercut employer plans that have provided most people in the U.S. with coverage for generations.

But last week a leading manufacturer told workers their costs will jump partly because of the law. Also, a Democratic governor laid out a scheme for employers to get out of health care by shifting workers into taxpayer-subsidized insurance markets that open in 2014.

While it's too early to proclaim the demise of job-based coverage, corporate number crunchers are looking at options that could lead to major changes.

"The economics of dropping existing coverage is about to become very attractive to many employers, both public and private," said Gov. Phil Bredesen, D-Tenn.

Democrats Hate Our Guts

They hate us all. Especially the stinky ones.
They hate our guts.

They don’t just hate our Republican, conservative, libertarian, strict constructionist, family values guts. They hate everybody’s guts. And they hate everybody who has any. Democrats hate men, women, blacks, whites, Hispanics, gays, straights, the rich, the poor, and the middle class.

Democrats hate Democrats most of all. Witness the policies that Democrats have inflicted on their core constituencies, resulting in vile schools, lawless slums, economic stagnation, and social immobility. Democrats will do anything to make sure that Democratic voters stay helpless and hopeless enough to vote for Democrats.

Whence all this hate? Is it the usual story of love gone wrong? Do Democrats have a mad infatuation with the political system, an unhealthy obsession with an idealized body politic? Do they dream of capturing and ravishing representational democracy? Are they crazed stalkers of our constitutional republic?

No. It’s worse than that.

Juan Williams: Game, Set And Match

Giannoulias Bank Granted Stay Of Execution

Until after the election. Even the FDIC is politicized under the Obama regime.
A final report on the failed family bank of Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias will not be released until after the Nov. 2 election, federal regulators said today.

The release of the report before the election could have been another political headache for Giannoulias in the close contest with Republican Mark Kirk. Giannoulias has been on the defensive over his role in loans Broadway Bank made to convicted felons while he was a senior loan officer, as well as other troubled lending that contributed to the bank’s collapse early this year.

The inspector general of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. typically issues a “material loss” report, which details issues in a bank’s failure, about six months after the institution is taken over by the regulators. Broadway, which the FDIC accused of “unsafe banking practices,” was closed on April 23, at a cost to the FDIC of $394.3 million.

Wikileaks Documents Reveal Iranian Chemical Weapon Smuggling

Somehow I suspect that this revelation will get far less exposure than it deserves in the US liberal news media.
It states that on January 17, 2006, a group of militants in Iraq was able to buy 50 neuroparalytical projectiles from munitions smugglers.

The missiles, it says, can cause neuroparalytic conditions similar to those caused by the venom in snake bites.

The identity of the group that bought the 82mm missiles in Ash Shamiyah, central Iraq, was not recorded by intelligence officers.

However, the document states: "The ammunition came from Iran, via Al Basrah."
It also records that the smuggler was a member of the Al Sharky group from Tahmaziyah Town, south west from Al Hillah...

...Iranian agents also came up with a plan to rig a car with explosives and poisonous chemicals for an attack on Baghdad's Green Zone, according to the documents.

An armoured black GMC Suburban with tinted windows, similar to those used by US officials and contractors, was allegedly to be detonated at a checkpoint to allow gas to spread over the secure area.

Dick Blumenthal Adds Sleaze To His Liar's Resume

Blumenthal's campaign has engaged in illegal coordination with Planned Parenthood to dig dirt on his opponent Linda McMahan. He can't claim that he's unfamiliar with the law. He is the state Attorney General after all.
A source this morning forwards on an e-mail this morning from inside Attorney General Dick Blumenthal's campaign for Senate, in which his aides discuss tarring Linda McMahon in cooperation with Planned Parenthood.

The e-mail's subject line is: "Worst of WWE + women photos."

"Hey all — Grossman is looking for mysoginistic photos of women and WWE. Planned Parenthood wants to hit LM hard on it," press staffer Marcy Stech e-mailed seven other aides to the campaign and the State Democratic Party. "What do we got?"

"Grossman" is the Democratic consultant Andrew Grossman, and the e-mail seems to raise the question of whether the campaign is coordinating with Planned Parenthood, an outside group.
Blumenthal spokesman Ty Matsdorf said there's no coordination and that the request was simply for an image that would be circulated on Twitter or in a press release, but not in a paid ad campaign of any sort.

Obama's Just Wild About Harry

Obama gives Nevada voters another good reason to vote for Sharon Angle: "Of all the races in the country this year, none is as important to President Barack Obama as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid’s re-election campaign.

"The race carries unrivaled symbolism for Obama, who would emerge even more politically wounded than anticipated if Republicans defeat his top Democrat in the Senate."

Sharon Angle gets it.

Minnick Could Better Serve His Constituents As A Republican

There’s a little game I enjoy playing. It’s called “Name that Party.” Usually I play my game when a politician is accused of committing some sort of crime or other indiscretion. To play the game, I count the number of words or paragraphs required before the politician’s party affiliation is mentioned in a news story. Typically, when a Republican is accused, it’s the first word in the story and the prefix is used so frequently that a visitor from another planet would likely conclude that “Republican” was the miscreant’s first name.

But, when a Democrat is accused, the word is never used more than once, if it appears at all. When it is mentioned, it’s typically well down in the story’s column inches. I’m still waiting for the party affiliation to be mentioned in the long-simmering story about Bell, California where the local government officials (all Democrats) in that impoverished city enriched themselves with 6 or even 7 digit salaries.

Name that Party could make a good drinking game: One swallow of beer for each paragraph that passes before the word Democrat is used. Although playing by those rules might end with a trip to rehab and a cirrhotic liver.

But never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I could play Name that Party while watching a campaign commercial. But in recent days, it has happened twice and I believe that if I did some internet searching I would find numerous opportunities to play the game.

I saw a Walter Minnick television advertisement the other day that nowhere even hinted that Idaho’s First District representative was a Democrat. In fact, an observer ignorant of Minnick’s party affiliation could easily conclude that he was a conservative Republican seeking to exploit racial tensions. Had Minnick been a Republican, Hispanic advocacy groups would be calling for an economic boycott of Idaho.

Minnick’s advertisement criticizes his opponent for being soft on illegal immigration, eschewing his party’s preferred politically correct terms, “undocumented immigrant” or “undocumented American,” and pronounces his opponent’s Hispanic name (Raul Labrador) with sneering emphasis that makes his name’s heritage unmistakable.

Discomfort with their party affiliation has become epidemic among Democrats. One Democratic incumbent in Alabama even fantasized that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi would improve his life and reelection prospects if she would just “get sick and die.”

I saw another advertisement from the other coast that seemed intended to fool the viewer into believing that he was watching a Republican. West Virginia governor Joe Manchin was considered the unbeatable heir apparent to KKK Grand Kleagle Robert Byrd’s Senate seat. But he had a “Democrat problem,” as the Washington Post called it, and had fallen behind in the poll.

His response was to produce a television ad that makes no mention of his Democrat Problem, but prominently highlights his National Rifle Association membership. In the ad he loads a round into the chamber of a high powered rifle and fires a bullet through the center of a sign with his party’s signature Cap and Trade carbon reduction plan lettered on it.

If he had an “R” after his name, this would be interpreted as advocating assassination.

The problem for both of these gentlemen is that, no matter how much they try to present a conservative affectation, in each case their election would enable their party’s extremist leadership. Nancy Pelosi would simply be a shrill, entertainingly insane back bencher instead of the power mad Speaker of the House and the nation’s second most powerful politician she is today if not for Minnick’s contribution to the Democrats’ majority. His promise to vote against her as speaker next session qualifies as porcine lipstick.

Considering that Walter Minnick’s campaign theme is based upon opposition to his party’s radical agenda, he could serve his constituency’s wishes by changing parties. There will be a new majority party in the House next year and he could be far more useful to his district as a member of the majority than as a member of a marginalized minority under the leadership of extremists.

Considering how radically leftward the Democratic Party has drifted in the last decade, Walter Minnick, a former Republican anyway, could give the same explanation for the switch that such prominent Republicans as Ronald Reagan, Jean Kirkpatrick and Bill Bennett invoked: They didn’t leave the Democratic Party. The Democratic Party left them. Think of it as a homecoming Mr. Minnick.

Barack Obama Gets His Way

Barack Hussein Obama claims to have created innumerable jobs. Although, no one seems to  know where they are. It's much easier to find the jobs he destroyed. Tens of thousands of jobs in the Gulf of Mexico with his capricious drilling moratorium. Thousands of jobs across the country with his gratuitous closing of GM and Chrysler dealerships. Untold thousands of jobs with his war on business aircraft. And now, it seems that Americans have followed his advice and are now boycotting Las Vegas.
Warnock ranks among the city's 145,400 unemployed workers. That share of jobless residents represented a local record of 15 percent in September, according to Friday numbers from the state Department of Employment, Training and Rehabilitation.

America Takes Representative Grijalva's Advice

And boycotts his district. Arizonans should return the favor on November 2.
While the rest of the state appears to have stopped losing jobs, Yuma County is the only metro area reported by the state to have continued the losing trend — and one local expert says we're not out of the woods yet.

The number of people working in the state last month actually is slightly higher than those employed a year earlier. That is the first time the state Department of Commerce has found such a year-over-year change in nearly three years. The Arizona Department of Commerce released the new numbers Thursday.

But the numbers for Yuma County show a slightly different story, with a .2 of a percentage point gain from 23.7 percent unemployment in August to 23.9 percent unemployment in September.
Of course, it was Yuma's Representative Grijalva who advocated the boycott.

Supreme Court Justices Shock Seattle Newspaper

By telling the truth. Some people (and most who work in the news business) can't handle the truth.
State Supreme Court justices Richard Sanders and James Johnson stunned some participants at a recent court meeting when they said African Americans are overrepresented in the prison population because they commit a disproportionate number of crimes.

Both justices disputed the view held by some that racial discrimination plays a significant role in the disparity.

Voter Fraud In Chicago?

A local government in Illinois is warning about potential voting fraud in the Chicago area, noting two election voters were convicted of such fraud just last spring.

The warning, from the director of elections for Cook County, Ill., raises the prospect that voter fraud could become a potential problem in the race and contradicts Illinois Democratic Senate candidate Alexi Giannoulias, who was dismissive of the issue at a recent debate.

Cook County includes Chicago and surrounding suburbs.

“This past spring, two election workers were prosecuted by the State’s Attorney General and convicted of vote fraud for violating voter privacy by supervising voters as they completed ballots,” a memo from Cook County’s director of elections, Jan Kralovee, says.

At an Oct. 19 debate, Giannoulias slammed his Republican opponent, Rep. Mark Kirk, for his “voter integrity” program that is intended to prevent voting fraud.

Yeah! We can't deny the vote to the dead, illegal aliens and imaginary people, can we?

Military Service Is Not Service To America

The mask is off.

We Work For China - Thanks Obama!

Texas Invites Washington Based Businesses

If Washington Democrats succeed in passing I-1098, Texas is eager and willing to accept businesses it will drive away.
Texas Gov. Rick Perry has sent letters to around 90 top employers and a few business associations in Washington urging companies worried about taxes to head on over to his state.

"As the State of Washington considers a multibillion-dollar tax increase for citizens and businesses ... I invite you to consider your future in America's new land of opportunity: the State of Texas," Perry wrote.

"If Washington doesn't want your business, Texas does. Texas has no personal income tax and no interest in getting one."
The letter was passed on to me by Bryan Mistele, the president and CEO of INRIX in Kirkland, who opposes I-1098, the proposal on the Nov. 2 ballot that would create an income tax for the state's wealthiest residents. Mistele said in an e-mail that he got a letter from Idaho as well awhile back, but no longer had a copy of that letter. Idaho sent out letters earlier in the year when the state Legislature was taking up tax increases.

ObamaCare Promises The Impossible

Another reason that we don't appreciate Obama's genius.
A diminished president, even - or perhaps especially - if his fate is self-inflicted, is not good for America and should not be pleasing to any patriot regardless of his or her political leanings. It certainly is not pleasing to me, as this president is my cousin. But as a physician who took an inviolate oath to my patients, I am duty-bound to take this stand, particularly after watching Barack Obama make so many unkeepable Obamacare promises:

 - Obamacare would reduce our deficit. We were to believe that millions of Americans would be added to the insurance rolls, that medical care would not suffer, and somehow, almost magically, costs would go down. We might as well promise it will never rain on weekends. Gravity caught up to this wishful thinking, and even the president's own actuary now admits the overhaul will increase, not decrease, the deficit.

 - Obamacare would allow you to keep your doctor and your current insurance. How can you keep your doctor if your doctor can't keep his practice? The New England Journal of Medicine reported a survey that showed nearly half of America's doctors are being forced to consider leaving their practice if Obamacare is implemented. And businesses already are finding they can no longer provide the same insurance policies to their employees that they had before Obamacare. Oklahoma's Republican Sen. Tom Coburn, also a physician, estimates 90 million Americans will lose their current insurance policies because of the takeover. Millions of them will be forced into Medicaid and government exchanges.

Public Sector Unions Choke The Taxpayer

With a little (actually a lot) of help from their friends - the Democrats.
Steve Melanga of the Manhattan Institute complains that politicians get union political support by granting government workers generous pensions and health benefits. After those politicians leave office, taxpayers are liable for trillions in unfunded promises.

"It's squeezing out all other spending," Melanga says. "Where are we going to get this $3 trillion dollars? ... When they're (government workers) allowed to retire at 58 and the rest of us are retiring at 60 and 67 — and by the way we're living to 80 — it's crazy. The public sector is the version of the European welfare state which, by the way, in Europe, they're actually rolling back."

John Gage, president of the biggest federal workers union, the American Federation of Government Employees, disagrees: "This thing about unions and the public sector and bankrupting America, that's very far from the truth. Yes, we have a problem with pensions. Basically because these pension plans haven't been properly funded."
So there you have it. Already overpaid public sector employees are whining that you haven't given enough.

Obama Does Fundraising With America's Biggest Tax Evaders

Taxes are for little people - and Republicans.
On the day it was reported that Google uses income shifting techniques known by such arcane names as the "Double Irish" and the "Dutch Sandwich" to avoid paying taxes on its foreign profits, President Obama attended an intimate, high-dollar fundraiser at the Palo Alto, California home of a top Google executive. He didn't mention Google's tax tricks, according to a White House transcript of his remarks.

The Democratic fundraiser, which guests each paid $30,400 to attend, was at the home of Marissa Mayer, one of Google's best-known executives. At the lavish home, which was "decked out in Halloween decorations on steroids," according to a White House pool report, Obama spoke briefly and had nothing but praise for Google.

Obama's Underappreciation Syndrome

The problem isn't that Barack Hussein Obama is bumbling leftist who makes Jimmy Carter look competent. It's just that you don't know good  you've got it.
Obama has spent two years bestowing upon the peasantry the "New Foundation" of a more regulated, socially engineered and therefore more humane society, and they repay him with recalcitrance and outright opposition. Here he gave them Obamacare, the stimulus, financial regulation and a shot at cap-and-trade -- and the electorate remains not just unmoved but ungrateful. Faced with this truly puzzling conundrum, Dr. Obama diagnoses a heretofore undiscovered psychological derangement: anxiety-induced Obama Underappreciation Syndrome, wherein an entire population is so addled by its economic anxieties as to be neurologically incapable of appreciating the "facts and science" undergirding Obamacare and the other blessings their president has bestowed upon them from on high.

Illegal Aliens For Patty Murray

If they are doing the work that Americans won't do, then Patty Murray is in real trouble.
When Maria Gianni is knocking on voters' doors, she's not bashful about telling people she is in the country illegally. She knows it's a risk to advertise to strangers that she's here illegally—but one worth taking in what she sees as a crucial election.

The 42-year-old is one of dozens of volunteers—many of them illegal immigrants—canvassing neighborhoods in the Seattle area trying to get naturalized citizens to cast a ballot for candidates like Democratic Sen. Patty Murray, who is in a neck-to-neck race with Republican Dino Rossi.

Pramila Jayapal, head of OneAmerica Votes, says the campaign is about empowering immigrants who may not feel like they can contribute to a campaign because they can't vote.

"Immigrants really do matter," Jayapal said. "If we can't vote ourselves, we're gonna knock on doors, or get family members to vote."

New Jersey Toll Collector Earn A Third Of A Million Dollars

I'll be interested to hear the unions defend this one.
Auditors say the New Jersey Turnpike Authority wasted $43 million on unneeded perks and bonuses.  In one case, an employee with a base salary of $73,469 earned $321,985 when all payouts and bonuses were included.

The audit says that toll dollars From the New Jersey Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway were spent on items ranging from an employee bowling league to employee bonuses for working on birthdays and holidays.

It took place as tolls were being increased.

The biggest expense uncovered in the audit was $30 million in unjustified bonuses to employees and management in 2008 and 2009 without consideration of performance.

One example was paying employees overtime for removing snow and working holidays and then giving additional "snow removal bonuses" and "holiday bonuses."

Obama's Change

A majority of voters in key battleground races say President Obama has either brought no change to Washington or has brought change for the worse.

In 10 competitive House districts, 41 percent of likely voters say Obama has brought change for the worse, and 30 percent say he has made no difference.

When Barney Frank Is Wrong, How Much Does It Cost?

The government spelled out Thursday just how much the most expensive rescue of the financial crisis will end up costing taxpayers—as much as $259 billion for mortgage buyers Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

That figure would be nearly twice the amount Fannie and Freddie have received so far. To date, the rescue of the two companies has cost taxpayers $135 billion. They have repaid $13 billion to the Treasury Department as dividends.

So Much About Pelosi Quitting As Speaker

In their latest desperate attempt to salvage their majority, the Democrats have begun hinting that Nancy Pelosi would not run for Speaker next year. Pelosi didn't get the memo.
