She's a frumpy, shrill, overpaid college professor who probably won't win in ultra-liberal Massachusetts. But Democrats see Elizabeth Warren as presidential material!

The extremely tight Massachusetts Senate race between incumbent Republican Sen. Scott Brown and ex-Obama aide Elizabeth Warren has been dubbed the closest in the nation by election-watcher Charlie Cook.

But a victory by Warren could lead to an even higher office. Top Democrats told Secrets that she would become top-tier presidential candidate material in 2016 if she knocks off Brown, putting her in the company of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“She would be the obvious choice for liberals and the leading woman in the race,” said a key Democratic analyst. “People will be looking for somebody new.”
