How Stupid Is Congressman Fortney Starks?

President Barack Obama and Democrats would like to forget about Solyndra, a failed "green energy" company the Obama administration subsidized with taxpayer money.

But one Congressman literally did forget all about Solyndra.

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA), in a mind-boggling interview with the San Francisco Chronicle, thought Solyndra was the car company Tesla and did not seem to know Solyndra was even in his district.

Here is a transcript of that part of the exchange:
San Francisco Chronicle: You got Silicon Valley in your district, or a slice of it.

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA): Do I?

Chronicle: Solyndra’s down by your way, as a matter of fact.

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA): Yes.

Chronicle: What specifically are you going to do in the next term to work with the tech sector?

Rep. Pete Stark (D-CA): I wish I had big enough expense allowance to get one of those new “S’s” that Solyndra’s going to make down there, the electric car. My 10 year old is after me. He no longer wants a Porsche. He wants dad to have an “S” sedan. They sound wild. I guess they run $60,000-$90,000.”

The Chronicle asked whether Stark was “dazed and confused.”

Just a year ago, though, Stark’s office sent out a press release calling on Solyndra executives to compensate the workers they laid off.
