California's Illegal Burden

It will come as no surprise that illegal immigration costs California billions of dollars annually.

State officials estimate that they add between $4 billion and $6 billion in costs, primarily for prisons and jails, schools and emergency rooms. Beyond those services, the illegal population adds to the overall cost of other parts of local government, from police and fire protection to highway maintenance and libraries.

Considering that California has a 26 billion dollar budget gap to close.........

California Speaker Envies The Mullahs

There's too much free speech going on out there.

California’s Speaker of the Assembly, Karen Bass: "The Republicans were essentially threatened and terrorized against voting for revenue. Now [some] are facing recalls. They operate under a terrorist threat: “You vote for revenue and your career is over.” I don’t know why we allow that kind of terrorism to exist. I guess it’s about free speech, but it’s extremely unfair."

Obama Following A Failed Model

The path that Obama proposes to lead the nation down is not the path less traveled. In fact, it's the path followed by California, New York and New Jersey. So, how's it working out for those states?

Formerly rich states, they are now known for job losses, booming deficits and debt, wage stagnation, out-migration and laughing-stock legislatures. At least Americans have the ability to flee these ill-governed states for places that still welcome wealth creators. The debate in Washington now is whether to spread this antigrowth model across the entire country.

Yep, that's just what we want for the whole country.

Of course, making all those mistakes isn't enough for Obama. He wants to make all that much worse with his idiotic carbon cap and trade fiasco.

The 1,000-plus-page American Clean Energy and Security Act (H.R. 2454) is being rushed to a vote by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi before anyone can seriously object to this economic suicide pact.

It's as though the Democrats don't want anybody to know what they're up to.
