EDITORIAL: False reports about guns - Washington Times

Imagine that! CBS and MSNBC lie to their viewers to help Barack Hussein Obama advance his agenda.

On the CBS Evening News, Katie Couric asked, "Are we really still debating health care when a man brings a handgun to a church where the president is speaking?" Deliberately or not, she got the facts wrong. As we know, Mr. Kostric did bring a gun to the church, but the president was not there and never was scheduled to speak there. Mr. Obama spoke at a separate event at a local high school at a different time. Not letting facts get in the way of her hysterical story line, Ms. Couric linked Mr. Kostric's gun to "fear and frankly ignorance drown[ing] out the serious debate that needs to take place about an issue that affects the lives of millions of people."

In another case in Arizona, a black man staged an event with a local radio host and carried a semiautomatic rifle a few blocks away from another Obama town-hall meeting. According to the radio station, the staged event was "partially motivated to do so because of the controversy surrounding William Kostric." This occurrence was not an example of an outraged gun-toting Obama protester, but a stunt to garner attention for a shock jock. Of course, this inconvenient truth was ignored by most news outlets.

MSNBC misrepresented the facts to try to back up a bogus claim about racism being behind opposition to Mr. Obama's agenda. On Donny Deutsch's Aug. 18 show about the Arizona town-hall meeting, the producers aired a clip of the anonymous black man carrying the so-called assault rifle -- but the network edited the tape so the man's race was obscured. Truth be damned, MSNBC anchor Contessa Brewer said, "There are questions whether this has a racial overtone. I mean, here you have a man of color in the presidency and white people showing up with guns strapped to their waists." Another commentator on the same show worried about the "anger about a black person being president." The supposed result: "You know we see these hate groups rising up."

Gee, if you can't trust Katie Couric and MSNBC......

I mean, does CBS have any history of lying before?

And MSNBC. Would MSNBC lie?

The Truth About Obama's Belgrade, MT Obamacare Townhall

As it turns out, a friend of my parents lives near Belgrade, Montana. And his eyewitness account of the goings on there are very much at odds with the official, mainstream media version. In short, the affair was staged. It was a taxpayer funded infomercial. Here is his account.

By now you have probably heard that President Obama came to Montana last Friday. However, there are many things that the major news has not covered. I feel that since Bill and I live here and we were at the airport on Friday I should share some facts with you. Whatever you decide to do with the information is up to you. If you chose to share this email with others I do ask that you DELETE my email address before you forward this on.

On Wednesday, August 5th it was announced locally that the President would be coming here. There are many groups here that are against his healthcare and huge spending so those groups began talking and deciding on what they were going to do. The White House would not release ANY details other than the date.

On about Tuesday Bill found out that they would be holding the "Town Hall" at the airport. (This is only because Bill knows EVERYONE at the airport) Our airport is actually located outside of Belgrade (tiny town) in a very remote location. Nothing is around there. They chose to use a hangar that is the most remotely located hangar. You could not pick a more remote location, and you cannot get to it easily. It is totally secluded from the public. FYI: We have many areas in Belgrade and Bozeman which could have held a large amount of folks with sufficient parking. (gymnasiums/auditoriums). All of which have chairs and tables, and would not have to be SHIPPED IN!! $$$$$

During the week, cargo by the TONS was being shipped in constantly. Airport employees could not believe how it just kept coming. Though it was our President coming several expressed how excessive it was, especially during a recession. $$$$$

Late Tuesday/early Wednesday the 12th, they said that tickets would be handed out on Thursday 9am at two locations and the president would be arriving around 12:30 Friday.

Thursday morning about 600 tickets were passed out. However, 1500 were printed at a Local printing shop per White House request. Hmmmm......900 tickets just DISAPPEARED. This same morning someone called into the radio from the local UPS branch and said that THOUSANDS of Dollars of Lobster were shipped in for Obama. Montana has some of the best beef in the nation!!! And it would have been really wonderful to help out the local economy. Anyone heard of the Recession?? Just think...with all of the traveling the White House is doing. $$$$$ One can only imagine what else we are paying for.

On Friday Bill and I got out to the airport about 10:45am. The groups that wanted to protest Obama's spending and healthcare had gotten a permit to protest and that area was roped off. But that was not to be. A large bus carrying SEIU (Service Employees International Union) members drove up onto the area (illegal)and unloaded right there. It was quite a commotion and there were specifically 2 SEIU men trying to make trouble and start a fight. Police did get involved and arrested the one man but they said they did not have the manpower to remove the SEIU crowd. The SEIU crowd was very organized and young. About 99% were under the age of 30 and they were not locals! They had bullhorns and PROFESSIONALLY made signs. Some even wore preprinted T-shirts. Oh, and Planned Parenthood folks were with them.....professing abortion rights with their T-shirts and preprinted signs. (BTW, all these folks did have a permit to protest in ANOTHER area)

Those against healthcare/spending moved away from the SEIU crowd to avoid confrontation. They were orderly and respectful. Even though SEIU kept coming over and walking through, continuing to be very intimidating and aggressive at the direction of the one SEIU man.

So we had Montana folks from ALL OVER the state with their homemade signs and their DOGS with homemade signs. We had cowboys, nurses, doctors you name it. There was even a guy from Texas who had been driving through. He found out about the occasion, went to the store, made a sign, and came to protest.

If you are wondering about the press.....Well, all of the major networks were over by that remote hangar I mentioned. They were conveniently parked on the other side of the buildings FAR away. None of these crowds were even visible to them. I have my doubts that they knew anything about the crowds.
We did have some local news media around us from this state and Idaho . Speaking of the local media...they were invited. However, all questions were to be turned into the White House in advance of the event. Wouldn't want anyone to have to think off the top of their head.

It was very obvious that it was meant to be totally controlled by the White House. Everything was orchestrated down to the last detail to make it appear that Montana is just crazy for Obama and government healthcare. Even those people that talked about their insurance woes........the White House called our local HRDC (Human Resource and Development Committee) and asked for names. Then the White House asked those folks to come. Smoke and mirrors...EVERYTHING was staged!!!!!!!!!!!

I am very dismayed about what I learned about our current White House. The amount of control and manipulation was unbelievable. I felt I was not living in the United States of America, more like the USSR!! I was physically nauseous. Bill and I have been around when Presidents or Heads of State visit. It has NEVER been like this. I am truly very frightened for our country. America needs your prayers and your voices. If you care about our country please get involved. Know the issues. And let Congress hear your voices again and again!! If they are willing to put forth so much effort to BULLY a small town one can only imagine what is going on in Washington DC. Scary!!

Barack Hussein Obama And The Culture Of Corruption

Like the New Black Panthers, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson's corruption case has been dropped by the Obama administration.

New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson and former high-ranking members of his administration won't be criminally charged in a yearlong federal investigation into pay-to-play allegations involving one of the Democratic governor's large political donors, someone familiar with the case said.

The decision not to pursue indictments was made by top Justice Department officials, according to a person familiar with the investigation, who asked not to be identified because federal officials had not disclosed results of the probe.

"It's over. There's nothing. It was killed in Washington," the person told The Associated Press.

The Sovietization Of Art

Back during the Bad Old Days of the Soviet Union, only art that glorified the state was permitted. It seems that Barack Hussein Obama is nostalgic for those good old days.

On Thursday August 6th, I was invited by the National Endowment for the Arts to attend a conference call scheduled for Monday August 10th hosted by the NEA, the White House Office of Public Engagement, and United We Serve. The call would include “a group of artists, producers, promoters, organizers, influencers, marketers, taste-makers, leaders or just plain cool people to join together and work together to promote a more civically engaged America and celebrate how the arts can be used for a positive change!”

I learned after the conference call that there were approximately 75 people participating, including many well respected street-artists, filmmakers, art galleries, music venues, musicians and music producers, writers, poets, actors, independent media outlets, marketers, and various other professionals from the creative community. I suppose I was invited because of my work in creating arts initiatives, but being a former employer of the NEA’s Director of Communications was probably a factor as well.

Backed by the full weight of President Barack Obama’s call to service and the institutional weight of the NEA, the conference call was billed as an opportunity for those in the art community to inspire service in four key categories, and at the top of the list were “health care” and “energy and environment.” The service was to be attached to the President’s United We Serve campaign, a nationwide federal initiative to make service a way of life for all Americans.

It sounded, how should I phrase it…unusual, that the NEA would invite the art community to a meeting to discuss issues currently under vehement national debate. I decided to call in, and what I heard concerned me.

The people running the conference call and rallying the group to get active on these issues were Yosi Sergant, the Director of Communications for the National Endowment for the Arts; Buffy Wicks, Deputy Director of the White House Office of Public Engagement; Nell Abernathy, Director of Outreach for United We Serve; Thomas Bates, Vice President of Civic Engagement for Rock the Vote; and Michael Skolnik, Political Director for Russell Simmons.

We were encouraged to bring the same sense of enthusiasm to these “focus areas” as we had brought to Obama’s presidential campaign, and we were encouraged to create art and art initiatives that brought awareness to these issues. Throughout the conversation, we were reminded of our ability as artists and art professionals to “shape the lives” of those around us. The now famous Obama “Hope” poster, created by artist Shepard Fairey and promoted by many of those on the phone call, and will.i.am’s “Yes We Can” song and music video were presented as shining examples of our group’s clear role in the election.

The Low Point Of Ted Kennedy's Career

For more than 40 years, Ted Kennedy was the preeminent bottom feeder of American politics. Normally, it would be hard to choose one or two low point in a career that plumbed such depths. But Ted Kennedy managed on at least two occasions to sink far below even his own standards. He drowned Mary Jo Kopechne at Chappaquiddick and he openly supported and raised money for Northern Irish terrorists. Or, maybe it was his back door communications with the Soviet KGB, offering to help them undermine US foreign policy.

On top of that, he was supposedly a Catholic, but he stood in opp

Enjoy hell asshole.

It's All The Media's Fault

The thrill is gone for Obama and the media | Washington Examiner

Gibbs is so crabby because, incredibly, the administration blames the media for the president’s problems.

It tried blaming Republicans, but the GOP is too far out of power. When the leader of the free world is complaining about a posting on the former governor of Alaska’s Facebook page, he’s got problems.

Team Obama tried blaming special interests, but that was a bust too. The president’s deal with the pharmaceutical industry gets him $150 million worth of ads to boost his plan, whatever it is.

The same people who bombard us with ads for products that promise to prevent hardened arteries or encourage hardening elsewhere will soon be selling you Obamacare.

“If you experience doubts about the plan lasting more than four hours, seek immediate help from Organizing for America.”

Democrats tried blaming the “mobs” of “un-American” protesters and “evil mongers” who were giving raspberries to members of Congress at town halls.

That flopped too, leaving the administration to blame the messenger.

Will Nancy Pelosi Make Walt Minnick A One Term Congressman?

Idahoans can't vote Nancy Pelosi out of the Congress. But they help to vote her out of the Speaker's job.

Mr. Minnick continued: “We need to be giving consumers the incentives and knowledge to make wise personal health-care decisions. And finally, it makes no sense at all for the government to be running a health-care company.”

The irony is that a majority of politicians agree on this path, but are hostage to Mrs. Pelosi and her ruling liberal minority. And Mr. Minnick’s problem is that his fate is lashed to that leadership.

He can disavow this bill until the Idaho elk come home, but his voters see the big picture. They might applaud his votes, consider him a great representative. Then again, they might look at Mrs. Pelosi’s ambitions, and decide a vote for Mr. Minnick isn’t worth the risk of keeping her in power.

Paul Zimmerman Snitches On A Liar

Paul Zimmerman has taken the administration up on its request to turn in people who spread misinformation about health care.

Subject: Misinformation about health care

Dear Sirs,

I would like to report to you that a gentleman by the name of Barack Hussein Obama has been spreading misinformation about health care reform. Apparently he keeps telling people that we have a crisis of uninsured people, when in fact we have a relatively small number who are young and remain voluntarily uninsured, and several million more who are eligible for Medicaid but who are too lazy to sign up for it (and several million illegal aliens who shouldn't be part of the calculus of these matters, period). Additionally, Mr. Obama continually tells lies about making health care more affordable by bringing it under government control, which dovetails with a repeated falsehood he is not shy about telling people, that they'll be allowed to remain on their private insurance, when in fact the draft bill dealing with this matter contains "poison pills" that are intended to kill the private health insurance industry. What we really need is for regulatory hurdles to affordable private health insurance to be removed, such as the ridiculous restrictions that prevent people from buying plans across state lines, sometimes forcing them to participate in artificially small risk pools, which drives up costs for the individual.

I urge you to look into this fellow's actions and make him stop. He is terrifying people who are ignorant of the facts and angering millions upon millions of ordinary Americans who are happy with what they've got. We don't allow people to yell "fire!" in crowded theatres, something Mr. Obama himself has pointed out in the past, but in his own way he is doing exactly that right now.

Sincerely,
Paul E. Zimmerman, M.A.

Panel blasts Panther case dismissal - Washington Times

Panel blasts Panther case dismissal - Washington Times

The U.S. Commission on Civil Rights is demanding that the Justice Department explain why it recently dismissed a civil complaint against members of the New Black Panther Party who disrupted a Philadelphia polling place during last year's election, saying the department has offered only "weak justifications."

Commission Chairman Gerald A. Reynolds, a former deputy associate attorney general under President George W. Bush, said he fears the legal precedent set by the department in its May decision to drop the case might encourage "other hate groups" to act similarly at polling locations in the future.

Mr. Reynolds also charged that other groups might not have been treated so leniently.

"If you swap out the New Black Panther Party in this case for neo-Nazi groups or the Ku Klux Klan, you likely would have had a different outcome," he told The Washington Times in a telephone interview Monday.

"A single law, a single rule should be applied across the board. We are communicating with the department in hopes of gaining a better understanding of just what happened."

Meanwhile, not a word of this in either the Washington Post or the New York Times. Nothing on the CNN website or the MSNBC website.

Maybe We Could Drill For Oil?

Just a thought. It's something we might want to consider anyway.

The world is heading for a catastrophic energy crunch that could cripple a global economic recovery because most of the major oil fields in the world have passed their peak production, a leading energy economist has warned.

Higher oil prices brought on by a rapid increase in demand and a stagnation, or even decline, in supply could blow any recovery off course, said Dr Fatih Birol, the chief economist at the respected International Energy Agency (IEA) in Paris, which is charged with the task of assessing future energy supplies by OECD countries.

So why are we doing this, instead?

In a clear signal that the Obama administration is shifting the government's approach to energy exploration on public lands, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar on Wednesday canceled oil and gas leases on 77 parcels of federal land that opponents said would blight Utah's scenic southeastern corner.

Smart Diplomacy: Hillary Goes Off Script, Clarifications Follow

We seem to be hearing quite a lot of this.

At a press conference in New Delhi on July 20, she was asked by an Indian reporter whether the United States opposed the transfer of sensitive reprocessing and enrichment nuclear technology from India to other countries.

"Well, clearly, we don't," she said. "We have just completed a civil nuclear deal with India. So if it's done within the appropriate channels and carefully safeguarded, as it is in the case of India, then that is appropriate."

The Indian reporter got excited, because what he heard was a policy change. Since the beginning of the U.S.-Indian negotiations on the civil nuclear deal in 2005, both the Bush and Obama administrations have refused to allow India to transfer sensitive technology, citing proliferation concerns. Now Mrs. Clinton was saying the opposite.

Henry Louis Gates Provides A Teachable Moment For Eric Holder

America had the opening exchange in that honest and frank conversation on race that Attorney General Eric Holder challenged Americans to engage in last February. But I doubt that he liked the results.

Shortly after his confirmation as United States Attorney General, Eric Holder condemned America as a “nation of cowards.”

“Though race-related issues continue to occupy a significant portion of our political discussion, and though there remain many unresolved racial issues in this nation, we, average Americans, simply do not talk enough with each other about things racial,” he said.

“Though this nation has proudly thought of itself as an ethnic melting pot in things racial, we have always been, and we, I believe, continue to be, in too many ways, essentially a nation of cowards. This is truly sad. Given all that we as a nation went through during the civil rights struggle, it is hard for me to accept that the result of those efforts was to create an America that is more prosperous, more positively race-conscious, and yet is voluntarily socially segregated.”

President Barack Obama shared Holder’s view of America when, last week ago, he described the arrest of his friend and fellow race baiter Henry Louis Gates as stupid. His working assumption was that his friend could only have been treated thus because of the color of his skin. This was also Gates’ view. To Obama, the truth was so self-evident that he didn’t even need to be fully informed of the circumstances. The conversation that followed exposed the hollowness of the racial-industrial complex that now defines the modern civil rights movement.

The truth is that Henry Louis Gates, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, and yes, Eric Holder and Barack Obama need to preserve the facade that America is a racist country for personal and political purposes. What would Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton do for a living without their racial protection rackets? The culture of victimhood keeps African-American votes safely in the pocket of Democrats.

Sadly the racialism of Henry Louis Gates and the other aforementioned indignitaries does harm to the very people whose cause they pretend to champion. Too many people have a vested interest in keeping African-Americans in their place and blaming whitey for their condition.

I recall reading a where-are-they-now story in Newsweek magazine about a survivor of Hurricane Katrina. The woman was about 30 years old and had born numerous children without benefit of marriage or even confidence of paternity. She had not attended high school, let alone graduated. But, Newsweek told us with a journalistic straight face, she was going to get her life together and become a nurse.

Oh really?

To become a nurse, this woman would have to do something she hadn’t done in nearly 20 years – attend school. She would have to graduate from high school, gain admission to college, and then get admitted to nursing school, no mean feat. Then she would have to graduate from nursing school. Assuming that she really could muster the personal discipline that had eluded her for her entire life, she would be looking at about a decade of full time schooling.

That’s not likely to happen. But, if she fails, she has a carefully crafted, pre-fabricated excuse to fall back upon. She was discriminated against. Jesse Jackson told her so. Al Sharpton agrees. The foundation of Henry Louis Gates’ Harvard career was raised upon that bedrock. That assumption would be the starting point for any conversation on race that would satisfy Eric Holder’s definition of courage.

Excuses are seductive and addictive because they offer relief from personal responsibility. But people who resort easily to excuses do not succeed. Sports coaches who routinely blame their losses on the officiating don’t win many games. By supplying prefabricated excuses for failure, the Henry Louis Gates’ of the world do far more to keep their people down than The Man ever could.

This episode also proved that African-Americans aren’t the only ones vulnerable to racial profiling. The Cambridge police sergeant who arrested Gates was a victim of profiling, as was the woman who made the 911 phone call reporting a break in. In fact, racial profiling against people of pallor has become the only socially acceptable racism permitted and it’s practiced at the highest levels of government.

How’s that for honesty Mr. Holder?
