Cap And Trade To Bankrupt American Families

This is just what we need in the middle of a recession, a $1761 tax per family tax increase.

And this estimate comes from the Obama Administration which has been notorious for underestimating the costs of its initiatives.

Of course, candidate Obama was briefly honest about this.

Government study: Climate bill spells gloom for jobs - Washington Times

Government study: Climate bill spells gloom for jobs - Washington Times

Not even Obama's own stooges could fudge the numbers enough to cover his boast that Cap and Tax, "holds the promise of millions of new jobs -- jobs, by the way, that can't be outsourced."

Why They Hate Her

Sarah Palin cuts cap and trade off at the knees.

There is no denying that as the world becomes more industrialized, we need to reform our energy policy and become less dependent on foreign energy sources. But the answer doesn't lie in making energy scarcer and more expensive! Those who understand the issue know we can meet our energy needs and environmental challenges without destroying America's economy.

Job losses are so certain under this new cap-and-tax plan that it includes a provision accommodating newly unemployed workers from the resulting dried-up energy sector, to the tune of $4.2 billion over eight years. So much for creating jobs.

In addition to immediately increasing unemployment in the energy sector, even more American jobs will be threatened by the rising cost of doing business under the cap-and-tax plan. For example, the cost of farming will certainly increase, driving down farm incomes while driving up grocery prices. The costs of manufacturing, warehousing and transportation will also increase.

The ironic beauty in this plan? Soon, even the most ardent liberal will understand supply-side economics.

How Much Does A Congressman Charge To Betray Constituents?

$3.5 billion.

They finally secured the vote of one Ohioan, veteran Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur of Toledo, the old-fashioned way. They gave her what she wanted - a new federal power authority, similar to Washington state’s Bonneville Power Administration, stocked with up to $3.5 billion in taxpayer money available for lending to renewable energy and economic development projects in Ohio and other Midwestern states.

Cap and Trade: Too Expensive For The Democrats?

CNN says that Nancy Pelosi and her goons are uncertain that their crappy cap and trade bill will pass. And so, it's turning into another porkfest.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi conceded Wednesday evening that there were not enough votes to pass the bill, but that meetings with Democrats and Republicans were ongoing. Many Democrats from rural districts are concerned about the bill's effect on the manufacturing of ethanol and other biofuels, while Republicans have questioned the overall price tag to Americans.

Obama's Energy Plan: Skyrocketing Electric Bills

You're not paying nearly enough to light and heat your home.

"Under my plan of a cap and trade system, electricity rates would necessarily skyrocket. Even regardless of what I say about whether coal is good or bad. Because I’m capping greenhouse gases, coal power plants, you know, natural gas, you name it — whatever the plants were, whatever the industry was, uh, they would have to retrofit their operations. That will cost money. They will pass that money on to consumers."
