ACORN's Plan To Take Over Oklahoma

ACORN's 'Power Plan" found in documents group left behind in Oklahoma City | Washington Examiner

ACORN was scheming to "make Oklahoma a progressive state in the way it was 100 years ago."

Now, as a non-profit, ACORN is legally forbidden from engaging in partisan politics. And we all know how strictly ACORN adheres to the law.

Another Story For The New York Times To Ignore

Well, the New York Times' double secret opinion journalism editor has his first story to ignore.

With the revelation that White House Director of Political Affairs, Patrick Gaspard, has close ties to Bertha Lewis and to ACORN, Matthew Vadum and Erick Erickson appear to be onto something significant. While the Gaspard matter needs further investigation before we form any hard conclusions, it certainly seems to confirm that President Obama’s ties to a whole series of ACORN-controlled organizations are neither minor nor by any means long-past. In fact, making use of what Erickson and Vadum have discovered about Gaspard, we can trace these links still further.

By the way, Director of Political Affairs is the same position that Karl Rove held in the Bush Administration.

New York Times Confesses To Cocooning

But, they've promised to do better.

Some editors told me they were not immediately aware of the Acorn videos on Fox, YouTube and a new conservative Web site called BigGovernment.com. When the Senate voted to cut off all federal funds to Acorn, there was not a word in the newspaper or on its Web site. When the New York City Council froze all its funding for Acorn and the Brooklyn district attorney opened a criminal investigation, there was still nothing.

Readers noticed. James Jeff Crocket of New Britain, Conn., spoke for many when he said he was sure he knew why the paper was silent: “protecting the progressive movement.”

Finally, on Sept. 16, nearly a week after the first video was posted, The Times took note of the controversy, under the headline, “Conservatives Draw Blood From Acorn, Favored Foe.” The article said that conservatives hoped to weaken the Obama administration by attacking its allies and appointees they viewed as leftist. The conservatives thought they had a “winning formula,” the article said, mobilizing people “to dig up dirt,” then trumpeting it on talk radio and television.

By stressing the politics, the article irritated more readers. “A suspicious person might see an attempt to deflect criticism of Acorn by highlighting how those pesky conservatives are at it again,” said Albert Smith of Chatham, N.J.

But of course, the Times found the Times innocent of political bias.

Despite what the critics think, Abramson said the problem was not liberal bias.

And we can believe the Jill Abramson.

The ACORN Hits Keep Coming

Why are the mainstream media surprised by this?

Documents released by a Senate Republican on Thursday show that leaders of the ACORN community organizing network transferred several million dollars in charitable and government money meant for the poor to arms of the group that have political and sometimes profit-making missions.

ACORN's tax-exempt groups and allied organizations, long a target of conservative ire, used more than half their charitable and public money in 2006 to pay other ACORN affiliates, according to an analysis by the tax staff of Sen. Charles E. Grassley (R-Iowa).

If we had honest mainstream news media, this would have been known long ago. In truth, I believe that they did know it all along and intentionally suppressed it.

Maybe this will help Charlie Gibson and the rest of the mainstream media catch up on this story.

Or maybe this will.

ACORN, calling the actions of some of its employees "indefensible," has suspended advising new clients as part of its service programs and is setting up an independent review to see what happened.

ACORN chief executive Bertha Lewis said in a written statement that she was "ordering a halt to any new intakes into ACORN's service programs until completion of an independent review."

Of course, to explain this to New York Times readers will be difficult, considering that this is all they've read about it.

ACORN Prostitution Scandals: The Hits Just Keep Coming

Without the slightest bit of evidence, CNN claimed that James O'Keefe tried his prostitution sting on numerous ACORN offices before he managed to fool one.

Not true - again.

Of course, if you want to read about this, you'll have to subscribe to a foreign newspaper.

But liberals are not simply standing still on this. No, they're threatening the guy who exposed ACORN.

ACORN: It's All About Derailing Socialism

ACORN's chief organizer, Bertha Lewis knows why ACORN has been the target of stings lately that has turned of at least one gravy train.

"It is no coincidence that the most recent attacks have been launched just when health care reform is gaining traction," Bertha Lewis, ACORN's chief organizer, said in a press release Saturday. "It is clear they've had these tapes for months."

Ms. Lewis said conservative forces were conspiring to make ACORN the "Willie Horton for 2009," referring to the convicted murderer who committed more crimes while on work release from a Massachusetts prison and was featured in a 1988 campaign ad criticizing Democratic presidential nominee Michael S. Dukakis as being supposedly soft on crime.

"We are the boogeyman for the right wing and its echo chambers," Ms. Lewis said.

We Don't Have To Worry About ACORN Anymore

And if you do, they're going to sue you.

Association of Community Organizers for Reform Now (ACORN) leaders are using the threat of a law suit to silence and intimidate critics, according to current and former members of the liberal activist group.
In a letter dated June 11 an attorney for ACORN advised top whistleblowers that their unauthorized use of the organization’s name could make them liable for monetary damages and injunctive relief.
ACORN executives have also changed their organization’s name, which was tarnished by investigations in at least 14 states of allegations of voter registration fraud during the 2008 presidential campaign, and charges by current and former members of financial mismanagement and misrepresentation.

That's Community Organizations International to you bub!

ACORN's Leftist Thugs At Work For Democrats

The organization that Barack Obama once worked for, and which Obama intends to award much of the census work, and who will be receiving economic "stimulus" money is being exposed for the organized crime outfit that it is. How are these people different from Hitler's blackshirts?

A lawyer for a whistleblower on the activist group ACORN is prepared to tell a House panel Thursday that the group provided liberal causes with protest-for-hire services and coerced donations from the targets of demonstrations through a mob-style "protection" racket.

ACORN called it the "muscle for the money" program, according to prepared testimony Pittsburgh lawyer Heather Heidelbaugh plans to deliver at a hearing of the House Judiciary subcommittee on the Constitution, civil rights and civil liberties.

Will the MSM report this?
